Have you ever wanted to try having a garden? The Near South Neighborhood has a community garden located 18th & F Street. It was developed by the First Presbyterian Church and Jacob’s Well in partnership with Community Crops. The garden location offers 18 individual garden plots consisting of raised beds measuring at 20’x5′.
Now is the time to sign up for your own garden bed!

The Near South Neighborhood Association is AGAINST the zone change request that would allow grocery stores to sell alcohol, even if they are within 100 feet of a residence, school, church, or mental health facility.
Currently, businesses must be 100 feet away from residences, schools, churches, and mental health facilities in order to sell alcohol to be consumed off site.
By making an exception for grocery stores, we open up a slippery slope to other community service providers like pharmacies and convenience stores. If exceptions are made for one group, others will follow. Exceptions weaken the point of the law.
