Goodhue canopy update

After discussions with neighbors and the Near South Neighborhood Association, Lincoln Parks and Recreation has re-evaluated their original plan of removing most of the trees on Goodhue Blvd. Hurray! The trees will be reassessed to ensure as many as possible can be saved. Some will be pruned while others, sadly, will have to be removed. But the good news is the new plan for planting includes 55 trees on Goodhue yet this fall and 76 on adjacent streets planted spring of 2026. Plans also include a 4-yr maintenance program wherein neighbors, landlords and other volunteers will help with care and watering to ensure sustainability.
